a three-hour journey or a three hours' journey - WordReference Forums : Hello and thanks in advance! Three-hour is an adjective. To put it in a context: It's only about a three-hour journey. I wonder if one can say this another way. Can I say: It's only about a three hours' journey?
How to write currency amount of money in English? : In an old fashioned style of writing cheques, the currency can come before the figures (US dollars one thousand, six hundred and twenty-three and cents twenty-three). This style is still used here in Singapore, but elsewhere the normal style is for the currency to come after the figures. Our cheques force us to do this in any case by printing ...
increase/decrease (by) ... times | WordReference Forums : We almost invariably use "doubled" in your situation, and "trebled" and "quadrupled" where it increased three-fold and four-fold respectively. In general I would say we use terms like "increased five-fold" rather than "increased five times", because "five times" could mean on five separate occasions, rather than five being a multiplier. However ...

But the problem is that I don't know how to say it correctly if I, for example, want to say "The incomes in the ...
How can I read this in English? m³ (3-small 3) - exponent : Like English, math requires punctuation (especially without fonts or parentheses). 2^2/3 is either 2 to the two-thirds or 2 squared divided by three. Without explicit instructions it's 2 squared divided by three but I am not sure that's what you intended.

3-day or 3-days? - WordReference Forums : 3-day session. Franglais1969's suggestion is better... It's good style to spell out numbers less than ten (though there are exceptions, and it depends who you are writing for.)
