Why does Discord Web ( Chrome ) sound WAY better than the app ... - Reddit : ALL the fixes you find when googling. I tried resintalling. ( Fully ) I tried different audio-drivers. And it HAS to be a Discord App thing because no matter the drivers, Web Version sends my microphone 1:1 as I hear it in monitoring to Discord, but the App just butchers the audio quality. No changes on 64kbps/92 in the channel or server selection.

The browser version or the app version? : Browser discord is much more limited than the app. There are many points about this, for example discord optimization in the browser is far behind the app in my experience. And this is not the only example. I advise you to use the application, it is supported and works much better.

How do i prevent the desktop app launching when I click an ... - Reddit : By default clicking the "x" just minimizes to tray and the website will still open the desktop app. To avoid that go to "Windows Settings" in discord and deselect minimize the tray. The link will still try to open discord but just click continue to discord, and you'll stay on the website version.

Does the browser consume more ram than the application? : Apps running in web browsers are fine, but they often don?t have access to system resources that help them function, and are prone to lagging with whatever else is happening in the browser. I?d say just download the app and leave the browser behind unless you need it on other people?s machines.
