Disk Management not loading - Microsoft Community : Disk Management opens following the system restore, but an external SSD onto which I copied a lot of data now is not opening. although it is displayed as one of the drives. That is why I wanted to use Disk Management.
Can't assign a letter for drive in Windows Disk Manager : Disk 1 looks like an old OS drive that was not properly wiped after it was used for WIndows, or else based on having an EFI System partition it held the boot files. There is even a slight chance it still is booting Windows since it was not properly wiped after use, if it was plugged in when you installed Windows to the other drive.
